Fifty years ago this summer, production was begun for the long-awaited new automobile created for and sold by the Edsel Division of the Ford Motor Company. The summer of great hope soon turned to the fall of discontent and then to the winter of disaster. Disappointing sales industry-wide, brought on primarily by a recession and the coinciding market shift began to take on a name...Edsel. Since then the Edsel automobile has undergone the transformation from abject failure to curiosity to valued collectible. This summer, Edsel owners and enthusiasts from the four corners of the globe will meet to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of Detroit's most famous white elephant. Come join us in this once-in-a-lifetime event and witness the largest collection of Edsels ever presented. The unofficial son of the Edsel, Mercury's Comet, will also take part in the festivities. Open to all and free to the public. |
